Detroit TSUAA Foundation
The Detroit TSUAA (Tennessee State University Alumni Association) Foundation was developed in March, 2004, as an adjunct to the TSUAA-Detroit Chapter. Its sole purpose is to raise revenue which allows the chapter to award scholarship grants to Detroit Area students who elect to attend Tennessee State University, located in Nashville, Tennessee.
Each year, eligible students can apply for our two scholarships, the Detroit TSUAA Foundation Scholarship and the Detroit Alumni Book Scholarship.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be considered an eligible applicant, the student must:
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Plan to enroll full-time or be a full-time student at Tennessee State University in a four-year degree program for the upcoming fall or winter term. Be active in community and/or campus service activities.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Per Tennessee State University (TSU) policy, The Detroit TSUAA Foundation and the TSUAA-Detroit Chapter do not select the students who are awarded the Detroit TSUAA Foundation Scholarship and the Detroit Alumni Book Scholarship. However, the TSUAA-Detroit Chapter does recommend qualified candidates to the university each spring and preference should be given to students recommended by the TSUAA-Detroit Chapter.
Below are the Tennessee State University (TSU) criteria for the Detroit TSUAA Foundation Scholarship and Detroit Alumni Book Scholarship.

- Be a full-time undergraduate
- Have a minimum 3.3 GPA
Incoming freshman must:
- Have a minimum 3.3 GPA
- Score of 23 or above on the ACT.
The Detroit TSUAA Foundation Scholarship is renewable. However, the student must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.9.
